About IslamicNur

IslamicNur (نور, "light") is a free website of prayer times, Hijri dates, Islamic guides and everyday tools, built to be fast, accurate and easy to use on any device.

Our religious reference

All religious content on this website follows the Quran and the authentic Sunnah, upon the understanding of the Salaf (the Companions and those who followed them), as taught by the scholars of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah and Ahl al-Hadith. We rely on the works and fatwas of scholars such as Shaykh Abdul-Aziz ibn Baz, Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymin, Shaykh Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani and the Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta in Saudi Arabia. Duas and guidance are taken only from the Quran and authentic hadith, with references given.

How prayer times are calculated

Prayer times use the Umm al-Qura method of Makkah by default: Fajr when the sun is 18.5° below the horizon, Isha 90 minutes after Maghrib (120 minutes during Ramadan), and the standard Asr time. Visitors can switch to other recognised methods to match their local mosque. Hijri dates follow the official Umm al-Qura calendar of Saudi Arabia.
